The Trey Group is a San Antonio real estate team serving Bexar, Comal, Kendall, and Guadalupe counties, including Boerne, New Braunfels, Schertz, and Cibolo. Between us we have more than 40 years in real estate. We operate under eXp Realty and split our work by specialty, not by territory.

Where the name comes from

Real estate runs in the family. JJ's father was a broker for more than 20 years before him. JJ started full time in 2004 and founded The Trey Group in 2005, naming it after his son, who goes by Trey as the third to carry his father's name.

JJ has 22 years in real estate, the last 13 focused on commercial property. Most of his work is tenant representation: helping franchisees, multi-unit operators, and independent businesses find a site, get it approved by the franchisor, and negotiate a lease they can live with. In most retail and commercial leases the landlord pays the commission, so that representation typically costs the tenant nothing.

He currently represents Cheba Hut in San Antonio, and has represented La Madeleine, Ink Couture, Rounders Card Club, and The Lodge Card Club, among others.

On the ownership side he works with investors buying and selling commercial and investment property, including multifamily, retail, industrial, office, medical office, land, and mixed-use, along with 1031 exchanges. Commercial property doesn't sell the way a house does, so JJ markets investment listings on CoStar and LoopNet, where commercial buyers and investors are actually looking, instead of posting to the MLS and waiting.
